Star Valley

Tucked away in the heart of Rim Country, Arizona is the beautiful town of Star Valley. The town takes its name from the valley in which it is located, formed by Houston Creek, which flows south into the Tonto National Forest. With a population of less than 3,000 residents, Star Valley offers the small-town feel desired by so many. The town is bordered by Payson to the West, which is accessible by Arizona State Route 260. After intersecting with Payson, SR-260 gives access to Sedona and Flagstaff to the north and Phoenix to the southwest, all with less than two hours of drive time. The Town of Star Valley is surrounded by thousands of acres of national forests, attracting outdoors enthusiasts from around the world.

Transportation:

The main route of travel into the Town of Star Valley is Arizona State Route 260, which runs through the heart of the town. With its centralized location, most of Arizona’s main attractions are within a two-hour drive of the town. Following SR-260 to the north intersects with Interstate-17, which leads to beautiful Northern Arizona, including Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon. Taking the State Route east provides a scenic drive, winding through the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

Outdoor Recreation:

Star Valley is one of the best locations within Arizona for outdoor enthusiasts. The town is bordered by three different National Forests, which means that hiking, fishing, and many other outdoor activities are never far away. As indicated by the name of the town, Star Valley is a stargazer’s paradise offering spectacular views of the night sky, mostly because of the lack of light pollution found in the larger cities.
